The Hyderabad Waldorf School

Sloka – The Hyderabad Waldorf School, was launched 25 years ago and currently has 725+ students, 70 teachers and 30 support staff members. It is a fully established Waldorf School in the beautiful city of Hyderabad. The Waldorf curriculum has been successfully Indianized by our pioneering team to suit the needs of our children and is followed until Class 8.

The school has an affiliation with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and our students pass out of Class Ten with a CBSE certificate. The medium of instruction is English and we offer Hindi/Telugu as second and third languages. Here in Sloka, we believe in nurturing curiosity.

Our students have made us proud and their success is a testimony to the hard work put in by our teachers, parents and the entire team. We create trust, bonding and sharing – tools that help our students wherever they go.

We are proud to have among our alumni, students who achieved perfect 10/10 GPAs in the Central Board of Secondary Education exams. They include students like Lohit and Pranav (Batch 2011-12), P. Rakshit Keshav, Anissa B., Himanshi N., K. K. Aditi (Batch 2015-16).

Some of our alumni have been invited to institutes like Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Anahita’s one-minute film won the prestigious Cannes Award in the short film category a few years ago.

Some former students like Krithi, Swetha, Ridhi and Rishika who are studying Architecture. Swetha won a scholarship for topping her Entrance Exam. The list could go on and on… So, read on…and be amazed by the uniqueness of our teaching philosophy.

The Child is the Centre

Steiner Education is unique and multidimensional. It appeals to all the faculties of a student. Rather than exceptional proficiency in one aspect, we believe it is the whole child that matters. We mold personalities who are balanced well-developed in all aspects, and whose special gifts are tended to very gently.

Anthroposophy – the knowledge of the human being – is the basis of Steiner Education. The key elements of Anthroposophy are to encourage one to tread a path of knowledge, strive for self-development and energize the individual’s own spiritual powers. It focuses on a comprehensive understanding of the growing child. The philosophy is applicable to each student, irrespective of the child’s culture, language, religion or geographical setting.

Sloka’s Promise

We, at Sloka, try to encourage creativity and independent thinking. Parents can rest assured that their wards will be taught in a safe and caring atmosphere. This will go a long way in providing a child with the confidence required to excel in life and not just in exams. All this would be impossible without the teachers of Sloka, who promote a lifelong love for learning incorporating health and wellness. Every teacher here in Sloka tries to enable students to develop skills that help them live their life to the fullest and realize their full potential as human beings.
